Able Charities, Inc. exists to address the need for safe residential living facilities for intellectually disabled individuals in Northern Virginia by providing and maintaining Group Homes and alternative living facilities, operated by an experienced Care Provider organization, reintegrating these individuals into the local communities.
There are over 7,000 such individuals through the Commonwealth in need of such residential settings and, since the 2012 Department of Justice v. Commonwealth of Virginia Settlement requires the closing of four of the five Regional Training Centers, which shall displace 100s of their current residents, this number of individuals in need of such residential settings is expected to grow in the future.
